Big New Year in Big Cove - Nine Resolutions for 2020

Big New Year in Big Cove - Nine Resolutions for 2020

Celebrate the New Year like a Cove resident! Pick one, two, or more of these resolutions for the next 365 days!

  1. Read More
Do you read on a regular basis? Whether you’re checking out books from the New Hope, Gurley, or, now that Cecil Ashburn Dr has reopened, Bailey Cove branches, you can find anything and everything to read. And, kids will have plenty to do and learn.

If you prefer audiobooks, Audible can improve your commute or workout routine with some high quality narration.
  2. Exercise
Start January with some body-moving. You can find bikes, treadmills, ellipticals, weights, machines, and classes at Anytime Fitness and Fitness for Life.
Plus, you can hone your inner and outer beings at Hot Yoga of Huntsville.
  3. Grow in the Cove
The Cove is the most rapidly developing area of Huntsville. GrowCove is helping the region grow smartly, but it can’t be done without your help. Plus, you can grow into a new house, or help newcomers to the Cove find a place to move. If you’re listing your house on your own, we’re here to help: share with us on our For Sale By Owner page.
  4. Shop Local
You don’t have to go over the mountain to find convenient shopping. Local retail like Mary’s Grocery, and the Greenery offer a wide variety of necessities, gifts, and more solutions.
  5. Take Care of your Teeth
Did you know almost half of individuals with dental insurance don’t utilize their coverage as often as they should? We have several dentistry destinations in the Cove, not only for kids like Alabama Pediatric Dental Associates, but also Dental Associates of Hampton Cove, and even a new office under construction next to Publix for Duling Dentistry.
  6. Eat Local
Stay in the Cove for breakfast, lunch, and dinner this year. Start your day with a tasty donut and coffee from Half Pint’s or some eggs and bacon from Galen’s. Then, lunch options like Marketplace Café and Tortora’s will please any palate. Finally, dinner at Grandmother’s House or Yoshi can complete your culinary journey through the Cove.
  7. Business Advancement
If you’re a business professional, starting the 2020 year with development can be a savvy decision. Come by BNI Cove meetings (Wednesdays at 7am at Hampton Inn) for some relationship building and professional development.

For additional reach, a Cove Monkey sponsorship can support your community and give you a voice to reach your neighbors.
  8. Drive Better
Even now with Cecil Ashburn Dr reopened, drivers treat Eastern Bypass and 431 like an interstate. Traffic collisions occur regularly, and with narrow medians and construction in progress, we encourage you to please be careful and attentive, obey posted speed limits, and don't tailgate. If you need video evidence, consider investing in a dashcam.
  9. Furry Friends
Whether you already have a four-legged friend or are going to adopt one this year, the Cove has a plethora of pet care places. Cove Pets and Linderman can keep and care for your dog or cat.
